an advert using our online advert submission form, you are making a request for your advert to appear on
our website. Once we have checked your advert we will publish it on our
website complete with all information that appears in blue in the
advert submission form. This will include your telephone number(s) together
with the town and county you have entered. The Internet is a world-wide
medium and in accepting these terms you are indicating that you understand
this and agree that this information may be published on the Internet.
We will not publish your home address or email address on the Internet.
Privacy Statement
The
information you provide when you place your advert is collected by AutoLife
UK Ltd and is used to prepare your advert, provide us with details of
who we can contact if we receive complaints about your advert and, if
you pay by credit/debit card, provide the information required by our
bank to process your transaction. All information is collected lawfully
and in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998. We guarantee that
your personal information, including your email address, will not be divulged
to any other person or company other than SecureTrading Ltd. who process
credit/debit card transactions on our behalf. Your email address will
not appear in any advert placed on the AutoBike website. Instead, a link
will be provided so that people can contact you without having access
to your email address. We will not send unsolicited material by post,
email or any other method to you unless we need to seek or provide information

Your advert
The goods you are
advertising must be available for viewing within the United Kingdom or
Eire and your advert must comply with the British Code of Advertising
Standards Authority. You may give details of one item per advert. We reserve
the right to amend your advert in order to ensure compliance or to reject
it at our discretion. You hereby declare that all the information you
have provided is truthful, accurate, decent and legal and that you have
the legal right to sell the goods offered in your advert. Be considerate
to potential purchasers; they may well have to travel a considerable distance
to view the goods you have advertised. You hereby accept full responsibility
for all expenses, losses and any other costs incurred by us which have
been caused by untrue or inaccurate information supplied by you or if
you do not have title to the goods you are selling. Photographs are accepted
by upload to our server, email or post. We will tell you how to send your
photograph when you submit your advert.
Business disclosure
The Business Advertisements
(Disclosure) Order 1977 requires that all persons selling goods in the
course of business must make that fact clear to potential purchasers.
We have provided a facility within our advert submission form where you
must select "Trade" if you fall into this category. Your advert
will include the word 'Trade' indicating that you are selling the advertised
goods in the course of your business.
Your order
Once you have completed
the advert submission form, a proof of your advert will be displayed for
you to amend as appropriate. Once you have approved this, your advert
will be published immediately. You will be given an advert reference number
and password which you must write down as these will be required later
should you wish to renew, amend or cancel your advert.
Amendments and cancellation
You may cancel or
amend your advert at any time by completing the form provided on our web
site. Refunds will not be given for adverts that are cancelled before
the expiry date. For security reasons, you will be prompted for your advert
reference number and password. Amendments and cancellations are carried
out immediately.
Payment
Adverts, unless free of charge, are paid for by credit/debit
card online via a secure server. You will
be linked, via the secure server, to SecureTrading Ltd., a UK based company, who will handle
the transaction and provide us with an authorisaton number once the transaction
is approved. Such transactions are carried out automatically and without
reference to us. We are not given access to your credit/debit card details. We are therefore unable to answer any questions relating
to credit/debit card transactions. Please direct any such questions to
your card issuer. We do not accept liability for any losses or damages
you may incurr as a result of using credit/debit cards from our web site
or from any other sites linked from our web site.
Our liability to purchasers
We will not publish
adverts unless advertisers have confirmed that they have read and agreed
to our terms. Since we are unable to guarantee that the advertiser has
fully complied with our terms, even though this has indicated to us,
we are unable to accept any liability for losses or damages caused to
persons buying or attempting to buy items that appear in any adverts placed
within our website. Therefore, you are strongly advised to satisfy yourself
that the advertiser has provided accurate information and has the right
to sell the goods that have been advertised, before
passing payment. AutoLife UK Ltd operates under British
law. Your statutory rights are not affected.
